1st 1/2 of April 2013

When we got home from our spring break the eggs we had been incubating had hatched. Steve thought it would be fun and educational for the kids see chickens hatch and grow into chickens. We missed most of the chicks hatching. Our neighbors and their children saw it though. Peter did see the last one hatch.  Here the kids are moving the chicks from the incubator to the box they lived in for a week.  At that point they moved to the garage.

Out the 18 eggs we incubated 15 eggs hatched. We didn't think we'd be that successful!
For General Conference weekend I like to make cinnamon rolls. Peter loves them.
Joe can sit up on his own now so he gets to take bath with the big kids now. We call him "Splash Happy" because he splashes the Entire time he's in the bath.
-Unless we give him a rag then he sucks up the bath water.
I try to make Saturdays when Steve is gone a little more fun. One week we grew sugar crystals. Then  we did a demonstration that showed how clouds rain. First we put shaving cream over a bowl of water and then dripped food coloring on top. Our final fun project was finger painting with the colorful shaving cream.

Our brush pile was getting out of control with 6 years of build up. So Steve rented a mulch machine. Thomas loves helping Steve with the yard work. Actually if Steve drives the lawn mower anywhere without Thomas, Thomas gets quite up set, offended even.
Over all we've had a cooler spring than normal. You won't hear me complaining. I love temps in the 60's.  We did have a week or so of hot weather and that's when everything suddenly bloomed.
Everyone right before the bus came.

 Teddy the feisty chick.
 the garage coop.
The one 90 degree day in April, we invited friends over for a pool party. Tom loves these two boys.

Hmm, who does Joe look like? PETER

I taught Peter and Marie how to embroider. They learned the back-stitich. They also learned how to sew on a button.

We were ready early for church one Sunday morning so we did a photo shoot.

I had put curlers in Marie's hair the night before. They worked really well.

Marie's finished embroider bookmark.
