On Wednesday mornings we have been attending Tot-Time at our local library. It's for 18 months to 2 year olds. It's a great introduction to circle time. They begin by singing hand gesture songs, reading a book as a group (everyone gets copy to look at) and singing Old McDonald while waving a parachute up and down. The parachute is Thomas' absolute favorite part. He yells out the animal sounds with such enthusiasm. They place plastic blow up animals on the parachute as we sing about them. Sometime the animals bounce off the parachute and land near or on a child. Thomas loves when it happens to him; other children cry because it's startles them (it doesn't happen too often). After the parachute they do a low balance beam, which Thomas is pretty good at. To end they have free-play time. That's when I took this picture. Thomas had gathered all of Old McDonald animals and was carrying them all over. The boy loves anything farm related. He has even started playing with Peter's tractors, which Peter never really played with much.
