A view of the blue Ridge Mountains from Monticello

At the Monticello visitors center they had a great children's discovery room. Here Peter is weaving.

Marie is writing her name, the letter M, with "Mr. Jefferson's" polygraph machine.

Sophie and Peter playing chess as Spencer watches.

A block table where the kids could build a model of Monticello.

Steve next to a life size statue of Thomas Jefferson.

Grandma wanted a picture with her and the kids in front of the flowers. It didn't workout like she intended.

The kids' favorite part of the actual Monticello tour was the pond. Interesting fact is that this small pond near the kitchen was use to hold the fish they caught until the fish were needed.

the two winners of the children's race.

Janine, Tim, and, Steve after they all completed the Charlottesville 1/2 marathon. Each of them did great.

Looks like you all had such a great time. What a neat experience for the kids to see their parents running in the race.
I love the photo of the children with their Grandma. A posed photo doesn't show their personalities nearly as much!
